Dr. Johnathan Shih joins Golden State Plastic Surgery as a board eligible plastic surgeon who specializes in cosmetic breast surgery, body contouring, gender-affirming top surgery, and breast cancer reconstruction.
A California native, Dr. Shih graduated with honors from Stanford University in 2012 with a degree in Molecular Biology, and subsequently earned his medical degree from the Stony Brook University School of Medicine in New York. He returned to the West Coast to complete a six year surgical residency in Plastic Surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle, perennially ranked as one of the nation’s top training programs. As a resident, Dr. Shih trained extensively in the full breadth of Plastic Surgery, developing expertise in complex microsurgical reconstruction after cancer, breast reconstruction, complex hand and craniofacial trauma reconstruction, and aesthetic rejuvenation of the face, breast, and body.
At the core of Dr. Shih’s practice philosophy is an emphasis on a patient-centered approach throughout the care experience, from initial consultation through the post-operative recovery and beyond.
