Body Procedures

The inevitable changes that occur throughout life can alter how your body looks and feels. While these changes are natural, they can sometimes leave you feeling not quite like yourself.

When diet and exercise are not enough to get you where you want to be, the right procedure can help you feel more comfortable and confident in your own skin.

At Golden State Plastic Surgery, we offer a full range of body procedures designed to address common concerns. Whether you are looking to tighten loose skin, remove stubborn fat or improve the appearance of a scar, our team will work with you to create a personalized treatment plan that fits your goals.

Body Procedures at Golden State Plastic Surgery

From removing excess skin to eliminating stubborn fat to refining the appearance of scars, our body procedures cover a wide range of concerns.

Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)

A tummy tuck is one of the most popular body contouring procedures we perform. It is designed to flatten and reshape the midsection by removing excess skin and tightening the underlying muscles.

There are different types of tummy tucks depending on your needs:

  • A mini tummy tuck focuses on the area below the belly button and is best for patients who have a smaller amount of excess skin
  • A full tummy tuck addresses the entire abdominal area, from the rib cage to the pubic bone

During your consultation, we will evaluate your concerns and recommend the approach that will give you the best possible outcome.

Panniculectomy (Traditional and Fleur de Lis)

A panniculectomy is a procedure that removes the pannus, which is the apron of skin and tissue that hangs over the lower abdomen.

This is especially common after major weight loss. Unlike a standard tummy tuck, a panniculectomy is often considered a medical necessity because the hanging skin can cause rashes, infections and difficulty with daily movement.

We offer both traditional and fleur de lis panniculectomy techniques. A traditional panniculectomy removes excess skin and tissue along a horizontal line across the lower abdomen. The fleur de lis technique adds a vertical incision, allowing us to remove skin in both directions.

Liposuction

Liposuction is a versatile procedure that removes stubborn pockets of fat that resist diet and exercise. It is not a weight loss solution, but rather a sculpting tool that can refine and reshape specific areas of the body.
Common treatment areas include:

  • Abdomen
  • Flanks
  • Thighs
  • Back
  • Arms
  • Chin
  • Neck

During the procedure, a thin tube called a cannula is inserted through small incisions in the skin. The fat is gently loosened and suctioned out, leaving behind a smoother and more proportional contour. Modern liposuction techniques are designed to be precise and minimize trauma to surrounding tissue, which helps with recovery.

Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)

An arm lift targets the upper arms, where loose and sagging skin is a common concern. This is an area that tends to hold onto excess skin after weight loss and does not respond well to exercise alone.

During an arm lift, excess skin and fat are removed from the underside of the arm, and the remaining tissue is tightened to create a firmer and more toned appearance. The incision is typically placed along the inner arm, where it can be hidden as much as possible. In some cases, liposuction may be used alongside the arm lift to achieve the best results.

Thigh Lift (Thighplasty)

A thigh lift improves the shape and tone of the thighs by removing excess skin and fat. This procedure is ideal for patients who have sagging skin along the inner or outer thighs due to aging, weight loss, or genetics.

Depending on the area of concern, the incision may be placed in the groin crease for an inner thigh lift or along the outer hip for an outer thigh lift. Our surgeons will recommend the technique that best addresses your specific needs while keeping scarring as discreet as possible.

Scar Revision

Scars are a natural part of the healing process, but sometimes they heal in ways that are raised, widened, discolored or otherwise noticeable.

Scar revision is a procedure designed to improve the appearance of an existing scar so that it blends more naturally with the surrounding skin.

Techniques vary depending on the type and severity of the scar. Options may include surgical removal and reclosure, laser treatments or other specialized methods. While no scar can be completely erased, scar revision can make a significant difference in how a scar looks and feels.

Combination Procedures at Golden State Plastic Surgery

Many of our patients choose to combine two or more procedures into a single surgical session. This approach allows you to address multiple concerns at the same time while benefiting from just one recovery period. During your consultation, we will help you determine which procedures can be safely combined to achieve your goals in the most efficient way possible.
